"Nebraska ": a modern black-and-white film

"Nebraska "is a Midwest road trip film about an aging father (Bruce Dern) and his son (Will Forte),Directored by Alexander Payne. As a studio release (Paramount) and a film set in contemporary times, "Nebraska" is unusual among modern black-and-white films, which have tended to be independently made or period pieces.

Bruce Dern plays an elderly man named Woody Grant living in Billings,whose mind has started to fade after years of heavy drinking. Woody determined to make his way to Nebraska come hell or high water, upon receiving a letter saying he’s won a million dollar prize。

David (Will Forte), Woody’s grown son, A single and struggling electronics salesman, he trudges along in work and in life. He and his father aren't terribly close because Woody isn't terribly close to anyone; family is the expected phenomenon that just sort of formed around him at some point. But when Woody keeps pressing to pick up his prize money, David sees an opportunity to spend some time together, and maybe even enjoy some long-overdue father-son bonding. So he agrees to drive his old man hundreds of miles, in order to reach the promised land of Lincoln, Nebraska. where Woody and his wife Kate (June Squibb) used to live many years ago.

in one scene, Woody joins his elderly brothers for a reunion.The old men sit in plaid shirts before a TV, trading monosyllables without looking one another's way.It's an easy sight gag, but their fine, weathered features turn it into something mysterious and iconic.

"Nebraska"is full of complicated people marked by flaws and failures, mistakes and regrets; they can be selfish bastards, too. It often feels as though Payne is trying to strip away the cliché that the region is populated exclusively by hardworking, decent hearted types, But for all the cragginess Woody exudes with his etched face and mess of white hair, he has also inspired a great deal of love in this director. The film's starkly beautiful final images have a poignancy that might leave a lump in your throat.

The Despicable Me movies are about family,that's what makes them so easy to love. Gru is now a father first, retired supervillain second. His girls are his everything, and when Margo's heart is broken by Antonio (the ultimate cool tween, with his floppy hair and leather jacket), or when Agnes (who rivals Monsters, Inc.'s Boo as the cutest animated child ever) can't recite a poem about motherhood, he's there with a kind word and an encouraging hug. Forget Daddy Warbucks -- Gru is the best bald adoptive dad in popular culture! Even the scenes of mild peril will obviously end up all right, because audiences know that a super dad will do anything for his kids.

I watched this film in 3D and it was awesome, absolutely worth the extra money it cost.The 3D animation was breath-taking in so many of the far-out action scenes, especially those where there was a speeding submarine underwater, the car hurtling out of the mall window, a jelly gun battle of epic proportions, an exploding volcano, up to the Minions antics during the final credits.

Rip “The Croods Blu-ray” to Kindle fire HD

Description:

My doughter love the movie “the croods” very much, so I bought the Blu-ray disc on blu-ray website for her playback, but she unwilling watch the movie at home alone, she would like to share the movie with her school classmates, I am considering of converting the Blu-ray disc to MP4 format for Kindle fire HD playing, so that she could take the Kindle fire HD to her friends’ home viewing the converted movie together with them.

My review:
If a year ago you had told me that there would be an animated movie about cavemen, I would probably have said you have the wrong movie person.When I watched this movie,I have a feeling:it is so lovely!
As “Despicable Me “is my favorite animated film this year ,but now I can definitely put The Croods as my primary ,the croods convey a positive signal with the adventurous storyline ,it is funny, hilarious, touching, family-oriented, heartwarming, and has Great voice acting, great animation ,etc. I have no more words to describe, it toughed my heart heeply. I would like to backup the DVD for viewing next time.

I have to say it‘s an absolutely perfect family film for both adult and children. if you have free time , enjoy this film with your family together, you will not regret,I promise.
